Books
by William McKeen
Aside
from Highway 61 and Rock and Roll is Here to Stay, most of my other books
were aimed at the academic market. There's a complete list below.
I still get a lot of inquiries about my Hunter Thompson book, even
though it’s out of print. Sorry, I don’t have any extra
copies to lend. There are a lot of Thompson biographies, but my
little book tried to concern itself with his work and less with
his personality. Maybe people like to crib from it when they write
term papers. There’s still a link for it on Amazon, because
sometimes it’s possible to find a used copy somewhere. I hope that my upcoming book on Thompson will do justice to his epic life.
The Literary Journalism anthology contains a lot of great
articles and is intended for use in college classrooms. I think
reading all of those great pieces is pretty darn inspiring.
The oldest book on this list, The American Story,
is an anthology
from the vaults of the Saturday Evening Post. It’s probably impossible
to find now, but it was a fun book on which to work.
So here's the complete list, starting with the one that isn't quite finished yet.
